I recently purchased a pair of Bose Triport headphones from  www.good-headphones.com using the Paypal service. The item turned out to be fake.  When an earphone link snapped unexpectedly, the seller would not reply to my emails so I sent the item to Bose for repair, who confirmed IN WRITING (an official letter) that the headphones are counterfeit.

When Paypal were informed, they were unwilling to do anything at all to help, saying that until a seller has had TWO complaints of a similar nature from TWO different customers, they wouldn't take it seriously.  I reminded them I have an official manufacturer's confirmation that the seller is a criminal selling counterfeit goods.

Here's the main point to bear in mind: GO TO GOOD-HEADPHONES.COM NOW AND YOU WILL SEE THE PAYPAL LOGO VERY PROMINENT ON THE HOMEPAGE - THEY ARE ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING THE SALE OF COUNTERFEIT GOODS.  Let's not forget, they are also making money from this criminal seller and are therefore engaging in black market activity themselves.

NEVER AGAIN will I see the Paypal logo on a site and presume that it is trustworthy.

I bought an item from seller ctsmonline2010 which was described as "new" and "a bargain". When it arrived it was very poorly packaged with one side opened and the item on clear view. When I tested it there was something rattling about inside and it was clearly defective. I contacted the seller and was told to return the item at my own expense, which I disputed. I raised a claim with paypal who accepted my claim but then stated I had to return the item at my own expense and as a recorded package, which would have cost me half the cost of the item.

I returned the item as a 1st class package, as the seller had sent it, but obtained a proof of postage. Now the seller is claiming he never received the item back and paypal has accepted this and paid him my money. I complained about this to paypal who agree that it would have cost me quite a bit of money to return the package recorded but say that other than asking the seller to refund my money, there is nothing they can do.

So paypal sides with liars and thieves. Simple as that.

Have been using paypal for years, must have been lucky up to now. Have 100% feedback on Ebay. Been trading years. Recently sold an expensive book to a buyer. I knew right away he was trying to fleece me just looking at his feedback. He told me the book hadn't arrived. I know it had but I had not sent by registered mail so I couldn't prove anything. I've known items to take weeks to reach buyers but in 99.9% of the case they always get there in the end. Immediately the buyer opened a paypal dispute. Then claimed for a refund. I could do nothing else as I had just sent the book in good faith as I always do. So easy! Paypal don't give a toss they are evil and I suddenly hate them. If I send an expensive package to the USA I can't even insure it because there is no contract between the Dutch and American postal companies. All I can do is send a package by registered mail and that's a complete waste of money because as soon as the package leaves the country it receives a new track and trace number which just vanishes of our radar altogether. Paypal don't give a flying f*ck about sellers anymore, and Ebay don't allow sellers even to leave Neutral feedback anymore so this guy could even give me a neg after he receives his cash back and I'd be left to give him a pos! They make it so we can't do without them and then they stab us in the back after giving them so much money over the years. And just say the book arrives in the days ahead? Do Paypal even think about that? Horrible horrible horrible thieves and scoundrels. Angry

I have only just started using ebay to sell and so far, sold 5 items.  All buyers paid straight away.  However, I then noticed that Paypal had: "monies charged to my paypal account will be between such and such a day".  Duly, between the dates, I had confirmation that the money went in and the amount I "owed" was paid!  Then a couple of day's later, I see that they have done a payment referal.  Again, I had more dates for the money to go in, then to find that they were unsuccessful in doing this, and to get in touch!  Oh, how I have tried!  I can't go through to the help page because they said the help is not in English at the moment!  I was given a phone number to dial but it is French. I live in France, so I guess that is why, but when I got through, the chap could not even hear me - yet I heard him clearly!  I tried to find a number for the UK, but nothing!  I managed to email them, and amazingly received a response straight away, but with: can you phone us on this number please, so that we can help you further!  I tried, but continually engaged!

The latest is me speaking on virtual to a ebay helper who said to email them and they would forward the mail to paypal.  I asked roughly how long.  He responded: 24hrs.  Still nothing and it is more than 24hrs.  Plus, I have received an email from paypal to say that I own a set amount of money to them!  It is all in French and although I can read French, it is hard when it comes to something like this!

I am stimid now on what to do.  I emailed a one of my buyers who said that she had paid as normal and I believe her.  How on earth can I sort this out?

For the last 4 days I've been trying to compleate payment for 2 purchases on ebay totaling about £75. Everytime I go to checkout through ebay it asks for credit card details(funny they already have that confirmed much earlier). Upon providing the details, I get a red message that the very details are already with them. I mean this keeps happening over and over, how retorical do they even expect you to get. I've emailed them twice to this now, and called twice too. Got a usless promise that they will fix whatever and that there is a system upgrade. Wether that is true or not, is pointless due to the fact that of any other feedback. VERY, VERY POOR customer support. This has happened on occasion several times before but went away, now I feel like a bum looking for boose. I think that is past trading standards code of conduct, but where to take up with such esacallations? Banking code as money brokers?

Hello all,

Not sure if this is the best place to post, but here goes and apologies if not.

I am writing an article for a well-known consumer magazine looking at online payment systems and the problems they pose. I am hoping that someone here might be happy to talk to me about there experiences to raise awareness and hopefully help others avoid the same pitfalls.

Feel free to contact me here or on the email address that is not hidden in profile.

Fingers crossed

I recently bought 3 Kingston USB sticks on ebay but upon receiving them I realised they were fake and after a quick check noticed that Amazon and ebay Australia had issued warnings about purchasing these.

I submitted my claim to paypal and they found in my favour and they instructed me to return the items with a tracking number to the seller which i did at considerable expense (£16 GBP)

They acknowledged delivery to the seller of the returned items but have now cancelled and closed my claim because they cannot verify the sellers original tracking number of the parcel sent to me! wtf?

in their words...

"Status
We have completed our investigation of this case. We have refused this claim and a refund will not be issued. The tracking information provided by the seller did not confirm that the item was delivered to you."

I have had no luck using there terrible phone based support and I am desperately trying to make them understand that if there is no proof the seller delivered the item to me then surely I am STILL due a refund.

Any help and advice would be appreciated.

I have another question. Huh

Surely paypal cannot profit from gambling yet they charge commission on donations made to charities for raffle tickets, lottery balls etc etc.

I have a lot of these that have gone through my own account, transactions which paypal will say are gambling yet they have changed commission on thereby making a profit.

Who can I query this with as if they dont allow gambling through paypal then they must not be allowed to profit from it.

We are a small voluntary greyhound rehoming charity and use the paypal account to receive donations via our website.  An disgruntled ex member has reported us for a violation of the acceptable use policy, out of spite.

I have been trying to resolve this with paypal today but each time I email them, I get the same response back - remove the relevant posts & the paypal donate button or  lose the paypal account.

There are alleged 2 violations:

1. Is for a raffle we were holding online to raise money for our homeless dogs.  I accept that this is a raffle but they are all donated prizes and most other charities use this method of payment for small raffles, lottery bonus ball fundraisers etc.  I accept that although this is not gambling it could be seen as a violation so I have removed the word pay and changed it to donate but they still want the raffle thread removed altogether.

Why is it just our charity that they are imposing this violation on when it is standard practice to use paypal to collect money through fundraising.

2. This one I totally disagree with.  The charity is having a fundraising day for people and hounds and charging £10 per person for lunch.  This also violates the acceptable user policy and I have no idea why.  Paypal wont reason with us and unless we remove the fundraiser from the website the will close the account.

I have asked why they think there is a violation but they just will not answer the question.
This seems totally unfair as there is no violation yet to remove the thread will cost the charity a lot of money in lost donations.  My other worry is that if they can make us remove this one for no reason and without a violation, then can work their way through all of our events.

The same paypal account has paid for raffle tickets on other charity forums and there has been no comeback and they have not violated the use policy.

Is there anything else we can do.  Or has anyone had any experience of this type of violation and any suggestions what we can do about it.  We know who reported us & why but paypal just wont listen.

The charity stands to lose around £600 because paypal will not respond.

hi im new here so hi to all of you ,

i was wondering if anyone had similair problem as me i sold a item on ebay and the first signs i was going to have problems with the buyer i should have realised becuase Before he even payed for the item he was telling me "i hope its as described and i want to know the full specs of it etc" and i had to unpack the item just to give him the details for him to pay,
well i sent it by courier the next day he recieved it and well he did the "item not as described" i knew there was nothing with it as i checked everything myself and had packaged it up really good so nothing could damage

even in his first email to me he didnt ask he said i want a refund or ill ruin your feedback basically ,
so i stayed being polite and said that there werent anything wrong with it and he sent me something like 20 demanding and quite threatening emails (to the point when i just didnt want to read my emails incase he had sent me one)

i seen a feedback on his account and i contacted the seller who law and behold had the exact same thing happen to her only the buyer said to her "ive found a cheaper one i want a refund" but did the "item not as described to paypal to get a refund"
the seller gave me permission to use this with ebay ,to cut it short after telling paypal on the phone and the guy i spoke to was not polite to me he was quite rude he told me on the phone that it would take 30days to resolve but i was so shocked within 17mins of that phone call they went in favour with the buyer even though i sent them loads of proof and the fact he had done it before ,
im sick of paypal ive had enough of them they NEVER help anyone genuine !!
anyone had anything sililair id love to get a solicitor involved as for all i know this buyer could change parts in the item i sent
thanks in advance
